RECREATIONAL PROGRAMS

SDI Classes (Open Water – Advanced adventure – Rescue)

Like how I teach technical diving covers a lot into how I teach recreational as well, as teaching all classes in back-plate/wing, with long hose /short hose regulators. With the theory we will cover much more than the textbook and standards say we need to cover. Much more focus on learning the “correct” way from the beginning. Meaning to use the correct equipment, diving in trim and be able to control your position in the water by using correct propulsion techniques (Frog kicks, Helicopter turns and reversing) and emphasise on buoyancy and we will be doing all skills being neutral buoyant! Learning how to use “emergency” procedures as mask failure and out of air scenarios and how to deploy a SMB. How we will do this goes with the mentality “same way every time”. So if you do classes with me and learn how to deploy a SMB, its exactly the same way you will be doing it later in a tech class, why learn one thing first then a different way later?

All the classes have online training so you can do all the academics home before coming to take the classes, which will save time on your vacation. Happy days

My goal with offering the entry classes is to create good and competent divers, with focusing a lot on buoyancy and with small classes (1-2 students) I aim to create high level divers that know what they are doing, That after the class feel comfortable to do the dives they are qualified/certified for.

SPECIALTY COURSES

NITROX

The most popular specialty class in the world! Yes nitrox or enriched air some people call it, gives you a big benefit on almost every dive. With having a higher percentage oxygen meaning therefor you will have less nitrogen in the gas you are breathing, equals longer NDL times underwater. That your dive computer will allow longer bottom times. Nitrox is an easy class with a few hours in the classroom and then some practical bits with how we fill nitrox and how to analyse the oxygen in the tanks. Worth a mention also is that its recommended for the deep specially class and required for the tech classes.

DEEP

This specialty class will take you to the maximum depth of recreational diving, to the depth of 40m.

Like all the classes we will teach this “the tech” way and how I believe deep diving should be done safely to 40 m. So will be emphasise extra on proper emergency gas, meaning either do it Double tanks/Side mount or in backplate/wing with a stage/bail out tank. In the theory focus more on Deep stops, Why ascent rates is even more important now and also how to calculate gas consumption and how to use this as a tool for making safer dives. We will discuss more about decompression mechanics and how different software’s/computers/tables work.

SIDEMOUNT

The SDI sidemount class is 3 days depending on schedule. Big theory session with the different options you will have regarding harnesses, regulators and tanks. Then we learn how to setup everything up and learn basic procedures over some shallow dives. After comfortable with the new equipment we will progress deeper with some scenario dives. The class includes four dives but recommended to do at least a few fun dives after to get the habits in and further practise all the skills.

main things that attracts to people diving side mount is normally:

- much less weight on back/knees if you have problem with either.

- double tanks = double amount of air gives you more time under water

- more redundancy = safer especially if you encounter any problem on a dive

- If you are planning to continue to caves/wreck diving in the future

- gives you better streamlining

- or if you just want to try something new..

SOLO DIVER

Getting more popular is that to dive solo. Why is this? Well as a photographer not the need to have a buddy, to be able to stay in one spot and do what you want to do. Sounds nice yeah. Or say that you live more remotely and its hard to find/get a buddy. What ever reason you have we will teach you how to do this safely. The theory/practical will consist of emergency procedures and how to solve them yourself instead of relying on a buddy (such as mask problem, gas loss etc) how to navigate  and also will cover how to calculate gas consumption and how to use this as a tool for making safer dives.

More specialty’s is available. This is the most popular ones.
